The first Munster Juvenile One Wall Championship took place on Saturday June 7th 2014 in Conna Sports Complex, Co Cork. The Cork venue proved to be an ideal location, with two one wall courts marked out in the sports hall which adjoins the 40X20 handball court. Format was an U12 to U17 girls and boys singles only Championships, with entries confined to one entry per grade for each County. There were forty three entries over all the age groups, each age group was assigned a one hour slot with one game to fifteen being played in all games; thirty two games were played starting at 10 30am and finishing at 4 30pm.
Many thanks to Conna handball club for hosting the event; the two Hurley brothers-Brendan and Chris whose organization on the day ensured the games ran like clockwork; Peter Dennehy for organizing the medals for the players; all the referees, catering men and women, line judges-young and old among whom were the following, Dale Cusack, Tom Dunne, Pat Murphy, Vincent O Brien, Darren Prentice, Fergal Coughlan; to anyone else not mentioned above who helped out in any way over the course of the day. It takes a huge amount of work and help to run off a series of games like this; again-mile buiochais to all the organizers and helpers adult and juvenile, counties, clubs, players, parents and supporters, without you-days and events like this would not be possible.
